Black Oak

Rather than use machine made black mouldings, we prefer to paint oak mouldings ourselves, giving a more traditional finish.

First we sand the oak frame by hand, smoothing out the sharp edges. We apply two coats black pigment paint to achieve the colour that we are looking for. Then we paint two coats of Black French Polish to the stain to give a sealed finish for the final coats of wax. Finally we polish the frame to a soft sheen.
